Dutee Chand bagged another gold at the Khelo India University Games when she finished with top honours at the 200m event. This was as if to prove that her 100m gold which she won earlier was anything but a fluke. Not that anyone was thinking it.
Running for Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, she finished the race with a time of 23.66 seconds.?
"It feels very good to win the 200m gold. In 100m, it is difficult to gauge when to run in full throttle and when to relax a little bit, but in 200m, it's easier to understand when to run in full speed and when to ease out. However, a runner has to exert much more in a 200m race," she said according to an ANI report.?
She insisted that more competitions should be held in the country to improve the quality of athletes.?
"I think there should be two competitions per month in India. The more competitions take place, the better we will do. Only training will not help, one needs to keep taking part in tournaments as well," she added.?
She is one of our best bets of an Olympic medal. Do not be surprised if she finishes on the podium. ?
