Is The New Day, one of the most successful tag teams in recent WWE history, heading for a split after being together for ten years? Recent developments in the ring suggest that all is not well between Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.
Following their loss to the Alpha Academy on the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, Woods and Kingston got into a heated argument on their way back to their locker room. The two were heard making personal barbs at each other before they parted ways and walked off, promising to see each other next week.
The next episode of RAW is a milestone for The New Day, as General Manager Adam Pearce has announced that it will be dedicated to celebrating ten years of Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E coming together to form one of the most successful and entertaining teams of modern times.
"WWE will honour the 10th anniversary of one of its most popular factions, The New Day. Since their epic debut in 2014, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E have captivated fans worldwide with their electrifying energy and the power of positivity. On December 2nd, WWE invites fans to join in the celebration of a decade of positivity with a special tribute to The New Day¡¯s legacy on Monday Night RAW," WWE stated.
The New Day holds several records, including the most reigns as SmackDown Tag Team Champions (7) and the longest-reigning RAW Tag Team Champions (483 days). The New Day also holds the record for the most WWE tag team championship reigns at 12 (seven SmackDown, four RAW, and one NXT). Two of them, Kingston and Big E, are also former WWE Heavyweight Champions.
However, The New Day has not been the same since March 2022, when Big E suffered a broken neck¡ªan injury that many fear has all but ended his in-ring career, even though he has not officially announced it yet.
