The New Day, arguably one of the most popular and entertaining tag teams in WWE in recent times, is not the same anymore. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, who are now the only members of The New Day after they ditched Big E, have been met with hostile reactions by fans since.
The latest episode of Monday Night RAW on 9 December was no different, as Kingston and Woods were once again treated with loud boos by a crowd of around 10,000 at Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas.
Kingston and Woods took to the ring on Monday Night RAW, attempting to explain their actions, which led to The New Day splitting up on the special broadcast meant to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
But an unrelenting crowd in Wichita did not allow Kingston and Woods to speak and interrupted them with "We want Big E" chants and boos.
An agitated Woods yelled at the fans, saying they didn¡¯t do anything to Big E, while Kingston claimed that the two of them could have taken a steel chair or a sledgehammer to his neck but didn¡¯t.
However, the fans were in no mood to listen and booed Kingston and Woods out of the ring.
It was not just the fans who made their displeasure over The New Day turning against Big E clear. Earlier in the day, Kingston and Woods were met with cold shoulders by WWE staff and superstars alike as they made their way into the arena.
The New Day split up over Big E, who is yet to be cleared to wrestle after he suffered a broken neck in March 2022. The former WWE champion, who returned to join Kingston and Woods for The New Day's 10th-anniversary celebrations, offered to be their manager but was turned down by the duo, who also accused Big E of putting himself above the team.
