Every morning we get up, we¡¯re reminded that we¡¯re living in a somewhat broken world with SARS-CoV-2 still spreading like wildfire. With more and more individuals getting infected every day our desperate search for an effective vaccine continues.
However,?Elon Musk?has a slightly different perspective on it.? ?
In a recent podcast with Kara Swisher, when he was asked that he or his family would get the COVID-19 vaccine when it comes out, he bluntly said that he does not plan on getting a vaccine.? ?
He further said, ¡°I¡¯m not at risk, neither are my kids.¡± While it is true that people who have compromised immunities such as senior citizens or people suffering from other health conditions are more susceptible to contracting the novel coronavirus, there have been numerous instances where people who don¡¯t fall in that category --young, healthy individuals, even children--have got infected from SARS-CoV-2.
Later, he went on to talk about how enforcing lockdown for preventing spreading of COVID-19 on individuals isn¡¯t the right thing to do, ¡°Essentially, the right thing to do would be to not have done a lockdown for the whole country but to have, I think, anyone who's at risk should be quarantined until the storm passes," while calling the current practice of lockdown a ¡°no-win situation¡±.
Musk has been vocal about his views of the novel coronavirus and the lockdown before too where he urged his employees to come to work instead of being locked in their homes, fearful of the novel coronavirus stating that they had a better chance at dying behind a car than dying of COVID-19.?
He has also referred to the panic surrounding the coronavirus pandemic as dumb while also claiming that the panic was far more dangerous than the disease itself. In fact, Bill Gates has also asked Musk to stop talking about the COVID-19 pandemic entirely.
Elon Musk has had a positive time during the pandemic. Not only has Tesla¡¯s shares broken all records, it has also resulted in pushing Elon Musk to become the fourth richest person in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index.
