Apple is known to possess patents for a lot of crazy things, and now a recent discovery by 'Patently Apple', reveals that the Cupertino giant has been granted a bunch of new patents for its Apple Watch, hinting at some handy features that we can expect from the future models.

The first patent in the list reveals that the watch or its wrist strap could be equipped with a sensor that could identify the wearer through the skin texture, wrinkles etc-- basically fingerprint for your wrist for authentication.?

As of now, users either need to unlock their phone or enter a pin on the Apple Watch to gain access. However, with this mode of bio-metric authentication, that would no longer be necessary while being extremely convenient.?
The second patent is definitely one of the coolest. Do you remember Marty McFly's shoes in Back To The Future 2? The ones that would get fastened automatically. The second patent is exactly that, but for your wrist.?

The band is equipped with sensors and fasteners and whenever it would notice that the band is loose, the tensioners on the device would tighten it, as per your arm's size to keep things intact. Cool, right?
The third patent might not be the most mind-blowing like the previous one, but it is something that could surely be useful. The third patent reveals a watch band with a set of light-up LED indicators.?

These could be used as a notification light for unread emails or texts. This could also help to indicate your daily workout goal status, without the need of turning on the Apple Watch display and getting distracted mid-workout.
While all these patents surely look amazing, it isn't sure if these features will hit the upcoming products. Apple is expected to launch Apple Watch Series 5 at this year's Keynote event alongside iPhone 11. Let's see what new things does it bring to the table.
