Amul, India's largest dairy cooperative, was recently mired in controversy after allegations surfaced that one of its most famous products, lassi, was infected with fungus. Amul quickly stated in response to these charges that they were attempting to address consumer concerns and offer accurate information about the quality and safety of their goods.??
In reaction to the claim in the viral video, Amul stated that the packets seen in the video exhibited straw hole damage and that liquid was seeping from that side.?According to the company, the damage could have been the source of the?fungal?growth in these packets, and the video maker was most likely aware of this.
Amul.coop has shared the tweet on their official Twitter handle with the caption, "Issued in Public Interest by #Amul" "The creator of the video has not contacted us for clarification, nor has the location been disclosed," Amul said on Twitter. The message was accompanied by a screenshot of the video, which revealed the damage in the straw hole area of the tetra packet.
"Amul Lassi is made at our state-of-the-art dairies and undergoes strict quality checks for product quality and packaging integrity," the dairy conglomerate emphasised.
To reassure customers, Amul underlined that all of their packs have a notice that says "DO NOT BUY PUFFED/LEAKY PACK," urging customers not to buy puffed or leaky packs. Amul claims that this is the regular procedure to safeguard the safety of its clients.
Since the screenshot was shared with the clarification, it has gotten over 375.1K views, 746 retweets, 55 quotes, 4,653 likes, and many comments.
One user said, "No, your lassi quality has degraded significantly; it is unquestionably of inferior quality." I'd say it's lassi-flavoured water rather than lassi.
Another person uploaded the video that started it all, saying, "We trust @Amul_Coop the packet had a hole before he opened and cut it." The creator of this video failed to see the hole.
