While there were 22 players on the pitch during a football game in the Netherlands, it was a fan who stole the show with his unique feat.?
A young football fan became an instant hero after he was seen carrying 48 beers - by hand - during a Dutch top-flight football game.
Christiaan Roetgering, a supporter of FC Twente, become the toast of Dutch football after carrying an impressive number of beers.?The 23-year-old went to watch his club host Eredivisie rivals Willem II on Sunday, but he swiftly went viral.?
Video and images of Roetgering carrying five stacked trays of beer were all over social media.?
"I always go to the game with a group of friends, and each time one of us has the job of getting the beers in.?This time it was my turn, and I didn't fancy having to keep going back and forth to the bar. So I decided to get everything in one visit," Roetgering was quoted as telling by The Sun.?
"I had to carry the trays through a passageway and up some stairs, but it all went fine. But it's not a record - my friend Jochen has managed in the past to carry 50 beers in one go," he added.?
His heroics haven't gone unnoticed. "I must have had 300 friend requests on Instagram. I was watching the highlights on TV on Sunday, and my phone just exploded," he said.?
Those beers might have been sunk sooner than expected as FC Twente were not victorious against Eredivisie rivals Willem II.
The game between the two sides ended in a 1-1 draw, with FC Twente having one player sent off during the game.
Nonetheless, people are in awe of the man's superlative effort.?
