It's 2018 and yet there are thousands of kids who still cannot afford a proper education and have still not set foot into a school. For kids like them, Baldev Pari, a mathematics teacher from Gujarat is an angel in disguise.
Baldev teaches mathematics and science to students of classes 9 and 10 in the Junagadh district of Gujarat.
To aid the thousands of underprivileged children who are deprived of this basic right, Baldev started a portal and a YouTube channel of his own to teach such students.
Speaking to Mirror, Baldev says, ¡°While teaching at [the] school, I noticed that several students needed extra guidance and help, but could not afford tuitions. ¡°I registered my website in the year 2010 and started working on it. But as I was not an expert, I could make it regular only in 2011. The students can access the material whenever they want to. I have also put up question papers and their solutions on the website,¡± he said.
And to execute his plan wasn't exactly cake walk. Baldev to set up the digital channels and spent Rs 7 lakh to build a studio and all of this?money was spent from his savings.?
He caters to students from Gujarat, his website and YouTube channel are both in Gujarati.
Pari puts up quizzes on the website regularly. These also have an audio in the style with which Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan conducted the famous programme ¡®Kaun Banega Crorepati,¡¯ reports the Mirror.
He has also held 20 workshops to train teachers in using digital media for education. ¡°They come at their own expense and bring their own food on a Sunday to get tips. So far, we must have trained around 2,000 to 3,000 students. Even education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama had attended one such programme,¡± he explained.
It's people like Baldev?Pari who inspire people to go that extra mile to bring a positive?change in the society.?
