A US man?has left the internet stunned as he cheated death after a log pierced his windscreen in a terrifying?Final Destination-style accident.?
Nick Wiltgen, who goes by NicholasStevenPhoto on Reddit, shared a picture which showed how a tree branch smashed through his car's windshield.
Wiltgen, from?Vancouver, Washington,?shared the photo with the caption: "Glad I didn't decide to sit in my car this morning and defrost it."
"There was a freak snow storm on April 11¡ªsomething incredibly rare for this region. We literally never get snow in April, let alone much even in the winter. Because of this, many trees, limbs and branches fell down. Unfortunately for me, one of them somehow speared through the windshield of my car which was parked outside my house,"?Wiltgen told?Newsweek.?
"Luckily no one was inside the car. Had I decided to go into my car moments before and turn it on to defrost it, I probably would have been obliterated," he added.? ?
Wiltgen said he has shrugged off the incident and is grateful not to be hurt.?
"With full insurance coverage and not a lot I could do, I just kind of shrugged it off and felt grateful for not being hurt, snapped some photos and videos and put them on the internet," Wiltgen told the outlet.??
Wiltgen says that he is currently looking to get his car repaired ¡ª which he really hopes will be possible.
"I didn't think at the time it was going to go viral. But initially posted it hoping to get some laughs from comments turning a bad situation into a positive one¡ªand that's exactly what happened," he added.?
Netizens took to comments section to react to the freak accident.?
"Think you went a bit far with the size of your pine air freshener," one user commented.
"This is some Final Destination s***," wrote one user.??
"Oh wow. Glad you weren't in the car. This is gnarly," a third user said.?
A similar incident took place last year, when a driver miraculously survived a harrowing crash after their car¡¯s windshield was pierced by a log.
The video showed a giant wood log piercing the windshield of a white van, pulled over behind a transport truck on a freeway.?
Yikes! That's literally every driver's nightmare.?
