In a bid to irrigate his farmland, a farmer in Mayurbhanj, Odisha has devised ingenious irrigation to water his crops using a water wheel system.?
According to reports, Mahur Tipiria of Badamatalia village under Sukruli block in Mayurbhanj district constructed the device. He went post to pillar to get help for irrigating his three acres of land but in vain.

Hence he thought of a device which he could make withlimited fund. It took him one month of time and now his waterwheel is workingnot only to irrigate his fields, but other villagers also getting the benefitfree of cost.
Speaking to ANI Mahur Tipiria said,"I' m a poorman. I repeatedly urged officers to make arrangements for irrigation but to noavail. Finally, I made this."

"We had filed repeated petitions to the governmentoffices but no one came to help us, so I thought of developing this technique.It is always better to light a candle ourselves than to sit idle and curse thedarkness," the farmer said.
After receiving little help from the state governmentTipiria took things into his own hands.
He made the system using a few pieces of bamboo, wood log, an iron rod and waste water bottles and now he is also helping local farmersirrigate their land with his innovative system.?
