Following a widely publicised exchange on X between Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Agarwal and stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra earlier this month, Ola Electric has announced that it has successfully resolved over 99% of customer complaints. This announcement comes in the wake of a notice issued by the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) against the company regarding alleged violations of consumer rights.
On October 21, Ola announced that 99.1% of the 10,644 complaints received from the CCPA were "resolved to the complete satisfaction of the customer as per Ola Electric's robust redressal mechanism."
This announcement follows a show cause notice issued by the CCPA regarding allegations of consumer rights violations, misleading advertisements, and unfair trade practices.
In response to Ola's announcement, comedian Kunal Kamra took to X, questioning the public interest in the company's issues.?
He stated, "Why is OLA a public issue? 1) The company is fooling the public. 2) The company is subsidised by public money. 3) The company is publicly listed."
The back-and-forth between Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal and comedian Kunal Kamra ignited earlier this month when Aggarwal took offense to Kamra's criticism of Ola electric scooter service (or the lack of it.)
In response to Kamra's comments, Aggarwal suggested that if Kamra genuinely cared about the scooters, he would be willing to pay him to assist the company.?
Otherwise, he urged the comedian to "shut up" and allow Ola to address "real customer issues."
