In the midst of the heartbreaking sadness felt by the families of the five OceanGate Titan submarine passengers, the organisation is under fire for allegations that it has already begun the process of hiring a new sub pilot.?
Tragically, the submarine went missing on Sunday while visiting the Titanic debris, and it has been established that the people on board died as a result of a tragic "catastrophic implosion."?
However, the internet community has voiced fury by uploading screenshots of a job posting by the company seeking a Submersible Pilot/Marine Technician to join their team, which has since been withdrawn.
OceanGate posted a job listing for a sub pilot who would "help manage and operate our fleet of manned submersibles and support vessels."?
The advertisement went on to say, "We are looking for a committed and competent individual with a combination of strong mechanical and interpersonal skills who can work on sensitive marine equipment, perform regular maintenance, and operate complex systems to support dive operations."
It is unclear when this advertisement was uploaded online, whether before or after the sad incident. However, internet users believe it was released shortly after search teams announced their inability to locate the missing vessel.?
This infuriated them, and they began to criticise the corporation for its apparent insensitivity. It didn't stop there, as Twitter was bombarded with tweets condemning their behaviour.
