People will not face any problems in bank-related work as holidays are not frequent or at short intervals, and ATMs, cash deposits, online banking, and mobile banking will continue to function.These holidays may vary from state to state as holidays are determined keeping in mind the local festivals.
According to RBI guidelines, banks are closed on Sundays as well as on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Under the Negotiable Instruments Act, the RBI has declared holidays on December 3, 12, 19, 24, 26, 29, 30, and 31. Apart from this, there are four Sundays in the month and also the second and fourth Saturdays.
According to the Reserve Bank's calendar, apart from the weekend, there are 8 bank holidays in December. Under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, the central government divided the holidays into three categories: those under the Negotiable Instruments Act, real-time gross settlement holidays, and banks¡¯ closing of accounts.
