An old video of a young football fan making a paper airplane and letting it loose during a match at a packed stadium has resurfaced on social media.?
During a UEFA Nations League clash between Germany and England at Munich's Allianz Arena in June this year, a fan took the onus on himself to find the back of the net. No, he didn't run onto the pitch. Well, he made a paper airplane out of his match ticket and sent it flying.?
In the viral video, as soon as the fan launches it from his seat in the top tier of the stadium, the paper takes off at a decent speed. It glides towards the players and, incredibly, stays in the air for more than 20 seconds or so before heading straight past English goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and into the back of the net.?
As you can see in the video, supporters tracked the flight of the plane all the way into the goal before celebrating wildly as it crossed the line.?
The players on the field might have gotten a mild shock when the crowd went into elation, wondering what they had done to garner that much support.??
It was arguably the loudest cheer heard at the stadium during the entire game, which ended in a 1-1 draw.?
Jonas Hofmann gave Germany the lead in the 50th minute before a Harry Kane penalty late in the game brought the scores level.?
The video has garnered close to 20,000 likes and several comments.?
"This is unbelievable," a person said.?
"The amount of focus the goalkeeper has on the ball and not seeing anything else is," a second person said.??
"Bro how tf does that even happen. The chances of that are so minuscule," another added.?
The invention of the paper airplane has always been a mystery.?Some credit the Chinese with the creation of the first paper airplane over 2000 years ago. Others state that Leonardo Da Vinci invented them while he was working on the designs for his ornithopter.?
However, the modern paper airplane we know and love was designed by Jack Northrop, co-founder of the Lockheed aircraft corporation, in the early 1930s.? ?
