Apparently, not wanting to wait any longer to get married, a man from UP's Muzaffarnagar hired an ambulance to travel all the way to Delhi amid a nationwide lockdown. According to Times of India, the 26-year-old put his father on a drip, and travelled all the way to Delhi by fooling policemen on the way.?
After successfully managing to reach Delhi and getting married, Ahmad returned to Muzaffarnagar. However, his plan did not go down too well with his neighbourhood and someone tipped off the police in Muzaffarnagar's Khatauli. The area is a hotspot with five COVID-19 cases.
The police got into touch with the health department and went to Ahmad's home in Islam Nagar locality and took samples of all the family members. Now, all of them have been quarantined for a period of 14 days. SHO of Khatauli, Santosh Tyagi, said, ¡°The entire family in Islam Nagar has been put into quarantine.¡±?
The report also adds that this wasn't the first time Ahmad had tried to travel to Delhi to get married. Apparently, four days ago, he and his father tried to exit Muzaffarnagar but the police turned them back. That was when they decided to hire an ambulance as their free ticket to get to the Capital. The driver of the ambulance, Mehtab, was booked under Section 188 of IPC (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant).
