In Kohima, Nagaland, street vendors have?reportedly been asked not to step out and sell goods in order to promote social distancing and avoid public gathering in markets.?
For street vendors for whom selling vegetables is the only source of income, this is obviously not good news. However, one vendor in Kohima came up with an idea to ensure social distancing while putting all his trust and hope in people¡¯s honesty and a small jar.?
According to a report the street vendor put up some harvested organic vegetables on the street while being absent from the place to adhere to social distancing norms. He then placed a jar alongside for people to drop cash into.
A report mentions that the vegetable stall is laid on the street along the old CM residence junction at Minister's Hill area. A handwritten note mentions the price of the vegetable to be Rs 20, which customers can drop into the jar.?
On April 20, the Kohima district administration ruled out that ¡®no street vending will be allowed¡¯.?
We hope that people don't let the vendor down and pay him the right price when they end up buying his vegetables.?
