The world's largest bottle of whiskey, which can hold 82.16 gallons of single-malt Scotch, is going up for auction in Scotland on May 25.The bottle, known as The Intrepid, is 5-foot, 11-inch tall. It contains a 32-year-old whiskey from The Macallan Distillery.?
The container has been verified by Guinness World Records as the world's largest bottle of whiskey after it was bottled in 2021.The behemoth bottle reportedly contains the equivalent of 444 standard bottles. As per reports, it will be auctioned on May 25 by Edinburgh-based Lyon & Turnbull.
The drink was reportedly matured in two sister casks in The Macallan's Speyside warehouse for 32-years. Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky, an independent whisky bottling company, bottled the liquid last year.?
The size is not the only record the bottle can possibly break. The auction house said the bottle could also set a new world record for the most expensive bottle of whiskey. That can happen only if it sells for anything above $1.9 million.
