Coming back from the dead became literal when this grandmother from Russia turned out to be alive after she spent a night in a morgue. Miss Zinaida Konokova underwent surgery to remove an intestinal obstruction at the?Gorshechensky Central District Hospital on August 14.
After being pronounced dead, she was taken to the morgue around 1.10 am but about seven hours later at 8 am, a female employee of the morgue was horrified and got the shock of her life when she saw Ms Kononova on the floor. The 81-year-old had fallen off the morgue table and was trying to escape.?

An ambulance driver passing through the morgue heard the disturbance and when he approached the morgue employee, she said, "Grandma, lie down, granny, be quiet."
Initially, the driver thought the staff member wasn't making any sense but then he saw Ms Kononova grabbing the employee's hand and asking for help. She was covered in blankets and was rushed to intensive care.?

Ms Kononova's niece, Tatiana Kulikova was contacted by the hospital and a senior doctor told her, "We have an unusual situation. She is alive!"
As much as Ms Kulikova was happy to see her aunt alive, she questioned the doctors about how this was possible. The doctors told her that Ms Konokova was registered as clinically dead for 15 minutes and she was "literally pulled back from the other world".
Ms Kulikova said, "She initially did not recognise me or recall that she had a surgery. But she talked about her old knee problem."

After all this, a doctor and anaesthetist confirmed and confessed that they had sent Mr Kononova to the morgue one hour and 20 minutes after her passing, instead of two hours as per the rule.?
Acting hospital head Alexander Vlasov said, "For 30 minutes the patient underwent resuscitation measures.?As a result, the resuscitation doctor established biological death, ascertained it. The anaesthetist is very worried. She feels very bad and we are afraid for her."
He added, "Every person makes mistakes. What will happen next with the career of this anaesthetist is still a question."??
Reports add that Roman Kondratenko, chief doctor of?Gorshechensky Central District Hospital, has been suspended and relatives of Ms Kononova are planning to sue the hospital.?
