Receiving letters from the?government?addressed to Bharat Ratna recipients is a common occurrence, but have you ever seen an ordinary person make such a request directly to official authorities??
A man from Gorakhpur,?Uttar Pradesh, drew notice by writing a letter to the Gorakhpur Commissioner and District Magistrate, expressing his wish for the Bharat Ratna after claiming to have heard his inner voices strongly pleading for it.?
Do you still not believe us? A screenshot of his?letter?has made its way onto the internet, eliciting laughter from those who have seen it.
Identifying himself as Vinod Kumar Gond, the man revealed that while meditating one evening, he clearly heard voices within him declaring, 'I want Bharat Ratna' not once but twice.?
This motivated him to formally seek that the government award him this high honor. "I was on the verge of engaging in Sandhya Bandan/meditation on September 30th when, before beginning, my conscience loudly declared that I should receive the Bharat Ratna," his letter said in Hindi. As a result, I respectfully want to be recognised with it."
But did the authorities respond? The document, embellished with various seals from the Commissioner, DM, and other Gorakhpur administrative officials, suggests that it has passed through several levels of approval.?
Meanwhile, reports suggest there is no confirmation of the level of official support, but the fact that such an offbeat petition has received attention from government agencies has amused netizens.?
Vinod Gond, a resident of Pipraich who lives in a leased house in Chhatra Sangh Chowk Kalepur with his wife and two children, tells News24 Hindi that on September 30, 2023, while absorbed in meditation, a thunderous inner voice continuously declared, 'I want Bharat Ratna.'?
This remarkable encounter impacted him deeply and reverberated wherever he went. He then recited the Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta and went into a meditative condition.?'During meditation, the Lord appeared before me, revealing the names of four individuals and declaring that only they could help my attainment of Bharat Ratna,' Vinod explained.?
But he didn't stop there; he claimed to have sent a letter to the Commissioner, which was read by the Commissioner, DM, Magistrate, and Tehsildar.
Following that, he was called by an accountant, who confirmed that his letter had been passed to the Government of India. He was told that he would be notified when the response arrived. Check out the viral post here.
