In an extremely unusual incident, a man from the state of Washington has been arrested by the authorities after a high speed chase. However, the twist here is that it wasn't he?who was driving, but his pitbull!
According to an AFP report, the incident took place on Sunday when the police received calls from concerned citizens who informed them about a driver who hit two vehicles on the road and then sped away. State Trooper Heather Axtman said, "The emergency services subsequently got multiple calls about a car traveling erratically at more than 100 miles per hours (160 kilometers per hour)."
She then added that as her officers got close to the speeding vehicle, they were absolutely shocked to find a pitbull on the driver's seat while a man was steering and pushing the gas pedal from the passenger seat.?
The man, Alberto Tito Alejandro, was arrested by the police and booked under multiple felonies including driving under the influence of drugs. Axtman also said, "When we took him into custody... he admitted to our troopers that he was trying to teach his dog to drive.?I've been a trooper for almost 10 years and I've had a lot of excuses when I've arrested people or pulled people over, but I've never had an excuse that the dog was driving."
However, the poor dog had to be taken away and is now placed in an animal shelter.
Human beings have no business putting an animal's life at risk for their own entertainment. Oh wait, unfortunately, that is not even something that is new.?
