In a major setback for all the Maggi fans, Nestle admitted to the presence of lead in the product, in front of the Supreme?Court. The court hearing made clear that the safety of the noodles was being questioned again and opened the action suit for Nestle initiated by NCDRC (National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission) for lead content in Maggi again.

Earlier in 2017, the topic of lead being present in Maggi was brought up and copious amounts of Maggi was destroyed as it flouted the health safety norms.
The judge counsel that was present for the case on December 3, questioned Nestle as to why anyone should eat noodle with lead in it. The court also argued about the highly toxic lead present within ¡®permissible¡¯ limits.

The apex court¡¯s ruling means that Nestle may have to review its packaging and change the way it advertises the noodle brand. But, Nestle in a statement said that it welcomed the orders passed by the Supreme Court in the Maggi noodles matter.?
