Would you believe it if we told you that eating pizza can help you reduce weight? Probably not. ThatĄŻs why personal trainer Ryan Mercer took on the responsibility to try out the "pizza diet" and tell everyone if it works or not.??
The 34-year-old Irish man took on the 30-day challenge and only had pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. From the looks of it, the diet did make some changes in RyanĄŻs body, and he lost rather than gained weight. According to his notes, Ryan lost around 7.7 pounds during his diet over 30 days.
Are you asking yourself why someone would do this? simply because the personal trainer wanted to show people how they could have their favourite foods while undertaking a calorie-deficit diet to lose weight. Although the man included pizza in all his meals, the Bangor native switched his takeout for homemade pizza when he started this 30-day challenge.
In his official video, Ryan said, "January is a tough month for people when it comes to fitness goals." He continued, "I aimed to highlight not only that fat loss is about calories in and calories out but that itĄŻs also not about restriction."
Ryan shared that he believes, "We donĄŻt have to restrict our favorite foods to get results and I also wanted to encourage more people to prepare their own food."
Usually, Ryan prefers to have a flexible approach to eating, including a healthy portion of protein in his diet along with seven to eight portions of fruits and vegetables every day. For his 30-day challenge, he says, "I consumed pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day,"
Though pizza was not all he had in a day, "I had two pitta pizzas and one larger dough-based pizza per day, this equated to roughly 10 slices per day. Additionally, I left room for additional snacks." The personal trainer shared that the hardest part of the diet was not eating greasy pizzas every day but the long time it took him to prepare his meals.?
"Pizza?is one of my all-time favorite foods, so I enjoyed eating it all month, although I did ensure I had a large variety of different pizzas to give myself some variance," he added.
The result of his?diet was shocking to many. At the end of the month, Ryan had become significantly leaner and had lost weight. Though he did also add a disclaimer for his followers, specifying that the changes to his diet worked because he planned the whole routine with great care and took his calorie?count.
