Gifts don't always have to be fancy to have an impact. A small gesture, like a handwritten note, a favourite snack, or a book that matches their interests, can show you care and make them smile genuinely. But can a gift from your partner leave you feeling deceived? In a recent case from China, a woman received a suitcase full of cash from her boyfriend. The box supposedly contained money worth about ?90,000 (700,000 yuan), but it turned out to be all fake.
According to a?Free Press Journal?report, the man gave the suitcase to his girlfriend to fulfill his future in-laws' request to buy their daughter home. However, when she tried to deposit the money in a bank, she discovered it was counterfeit.
The bank staff and police were alerted, and upon inspection, they found only the money on the top to be real, with the rest being fake. Understandably, the girlfriend felt cheated.

The boyfriend was arrested and admitted to the police that he knowingly had fake currency. He explained that he couldn't afford to buy a flat as requested by the in-laws, so he bought fake money online instead.
The fake cash was identified as training vouchers, which didn't lead to any charges against the boyfriend. Local media clarified that such vouchers are not considered counterfeit currency in the area.
