Deva OTT Release Update: Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde recently starred together in a thriller which couldn¡¯t do great in theatres. Released theatrically on 31st January, the film grossed a total of Rs 56.29 crore at the box office. The actioner is now inching closer to its OTT release. Here¡¯s everything you need to know about Deva and its much-awaited digital debut.
When and where to expect Deva online?
Deva¡¯s OTT rights have been sold to Netflix and the streaming giant is planning to go by the standard 8-week (60 days) release window between theatres and OTT. This means that Deva will make its way to Netflix in the first week of April 2025. It can happen before that, but it's certainly not possible that it will extend further. An official confirmation about the same is awaited!
Deva¡¯s cast and crew
Other than Shahid and Pooja, Deva also stars Pavail Gulati, Pravesh Rana, Kubbra Sait, Girish Kulkarni, Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav More, Upendra Limaye, Abhilash Chaudhary, Pravin Patil and Aditi Sharma among others. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the movie marked the Hindi debut of the writing duo Bobby¨CSanjay. Bankrolled by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Umesh KR Bansal under the banner of Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, Deva¡¯s background score is done by Jakes Bejoy, cinematography by Amit Roy and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad.
Deva¡¯s plot summary
ACP Dev Ambre, a hot-headed Mumbai cop, loses part of his memory after an accident. Before the crash, he had called his brother-in-law, DCP Farhan Khan, claiming to have solved their friend ACP Rohan D¡¯Silva¡¯s murder but never got to reveal the killer¡¯s name. As Dev investigates again, he realizes his past findings don¡¯t add up. Digging deeper, he uncovers a shocking truth¡ªhe was the killer.
Paranoid that Rohan would expose his undercover ties to a gangster-turned-politician, Dev had set up a remote-controlled rifle and assassinated his own friend during a police event. When he confesses, Farhan reveals he already knew but needed Dev to reach the truth himself. Accepting his fate, Dev surrenders. Six months later, in prison, his rage resurfaces, hinting that his past demons aren¡¯t gone.
