Salman Khan Roped In Rahat Fateh Ali Khan To Replace Arijit Singh In 'Sultan' Song!

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan made a hush-hush visit to India earlier this week. He came quietly, recorded a song for Sultan at the Yash Raj studios and flew back. Reports say he sang the track "Jag Ghumiya". And if we take a closer look, it might be true that he was approached to replace Arijit Singh for this song. The news broke after it was revealed that lead actor Salman Khan was in no mood to accept the apology of Arijit over a spat that dates back to 2013. And despite Arijit trying his best to seek public forgiveness, Salman and the team made a combined decision to drop Arijit from the particular song of Sultan. Now considering "Jag Ghumiya" is an emotional track, the makers were keen on having a similar soulful voice. That's where Rahat Fateh Ali Khan fit the bill. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.

Rahat had trouble in entering India at the Hyderabad airport in January and was deported to Abu Dhabi. The Pakistani singer has had bitter experiences with the country's immigration authorities in the past too. In 2010, he was denied a visa to India and was forced to record a song for Dabangg in Dubai. But Salman's fixation with Rahat's voice forced the authorities to keep his latest visit under wraps.

Music composer of Sultan, Vishal Dadlani preferred to maintain his silence on the entire Salman-Arijit controversy that made news for three days. During an event for his other film Te3n, he refused to speak on Sultan.

Sultan has remained the talk of the nation ever since its announcement. First it made news for a similar plot around wrestling, as that of Aamir Khan's Dangal. Then the fight over locations that both Sultan and Dangal faced. Even Shah Rukh Khan postponed the release of his big ticket Raees, to avoid a clash at the box office with Salman.

Sultan, which also stars Anushka Sharma, Randeep Hooda and Amit Sadh is a sports biopic based on the life of wrestler Sultan Ali Khan, and is slated for an Eid release.
