Dr. Gupta also told PTI that the medical board did not find any trace of poison or drugs in the viscera and it can be concluded that Sushant Singh Rajput died of suicide. However, he did not share any exact details. The CBI team is yet to make a formal announcement on the same.
If not murder, CBI will have to start investigating what compelled Sushant Singh Rajput to take his life. But convicting a suspect will be extremely tough and filled with legal challenges.
While speaking to TOI, Advocate Mohammad Musabbir Ansari, who practices in the Delhi High Court, has shed light on what lies ahead for CBI investigation.
"The court won¡¯t convict a suspect unless his/her name is mentioned in any suicide note. If there¡¯s any evidence of his/her activities and past behavior that indicate the charges leveled in court, then only the suspect can be convicted," said Advocate Mohammad Musabbir Ansari.
Further, the advocate also points out in the case of a person suffering from a diagnosed mental illness, the suspect can't be blamed directly.
"The CBI will have to look for any past complaint filed by Sushant or his family against the accused actor Rhea Chakraborty. They also have to gather evidence such as emails, WhatsApp chats, or telephonic conversations that can indicate a foul play. Also, in the case of persons suffering from mental health issues, the suspects can¡¯t be blamed directly," confirmed advocate Mohammad Musabbir Ansari.
The only hope citizens have is that Sushant Singh Rajput is brought to justice, no matter what.
