Internet 'Fulfils' Anurag Kashyap-Taapsee Pannu's Wish, Trends #BoycottDobaaraa Ahead Of Release

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu had recently opened up about the ongoing boycott trend in Bollywood.

As people called for boycott of Aamir Khan's film Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan, the two expressed that they feel left out of the boycott trend and wants to be on the same league as the two Bollywood actors.

Now, people have started trending #BoycottDobaaraa on social media. Dobaaraa, which is Anurag Kashyap's new-age thriller starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead role is the next movie to face boycott calls amid the rising trend on social media platforms.

While Dobaaraa has been garnering positive attention from the masses ahead of its theatrical release on August 19, netizens have pledged to fulfil Taapsee and Anurag's #Boycott wish. Many on social media have come together to call for boycott of the film completely.

"I am feeling left out. Even I want ki meri film boycott karo...please make our film trend on Twitter by boycotting," Anurag Kashyap said during an interaction with Siddharth Kanan. Taapsee Pannu too added, " Yes please boycott Dobaaraa trend karva do...we also want to trend on Twitter."

Their words have irked netizens as they now think the actress and the director are taking the boycott trend lightly.

Speaking of Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap's statement, one user tweeted, "As per Taapsee Pannu And Anurag Kashyap's Request we have to boycott Their flim Doobara which ia releasing on 19th august. Public has accepted the Challenge ?. Now u see anurag and taapsee how your film gets flopped."

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan have been unable to knock it out of the park as expected.

While Aamir's LSC took one week to cross the Rs 50 crore mark, Raksha Bandhan collected a mere Rs 1.2 crore on Day 9, after a decent start since its release on August 11, 2022.
