Ram Gopal Verma Calls KGF 2 ¡®Logic Less¡¯, The Kashmir Files ¡®Slow Movie With No Screenplay¡¯
Filmmaker Raam Gopal Verma claims KGF 2 'logic less' film while The Kashmir Files a 'slow movie without screenplay.'
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma, who often courts controversy for his critical remarks has once again grabbed the limelight for his take on major box office hits like Vivek Agnihotri's ¡®The Kashmir Files¡¯ and ¡®KGF - Chapter 2¡¯, directed by
The filmmaker claimed a director from the industry had told him that he could not watch south actor Yash's film for more than 30 minutes, despite attempting five times. According to him, the movie is similar to that of 70s-era films, which he believe was outdated.
¡°Two films that have f**ked up everything are KGF ¨C Chapter 2 and The Kashmir Files¡The scary part of KGF ¨C Chapter 2 is that nobody in Bollywood liked it,¡± Ram Gopal Verma said during an interview with Bollywood Hungama.
He further said, ¡°It¡¯s not like I didn¡¯t like the film. I can¡¯t get the right word. I would say, I was flummoxed. I was watching with my mouth open. Like, ¡®F**k, what? The so-called filmmakers look for logic. And when a logic-less film like KGF ¨C Chapter 2 breaks all records, what the f**k do you do then?¡±
Not just the Prashanth Neel directorial, RGV also targeted Vivek Agnihotri's hit movie ¡®The Kashmir Files¡¯, which featured actors like - Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Bhasha Sumbli among others.
Taking a dig at director Vivek Agnihotri, RGV said The Kashmir Files is no less as it is film made by an unknown director and that Bollywood never took him seriously.
"Anupam Kher was the most known actor in the film. Yet, it ended up making Rs. 250 crores domestically,¡± RGV stated.
The filmmaker also went on to add that The Kashmir Files was the "slowest film ever made" and that it goes against whatever filmmakers learnt what should not to be made.
"There¡¯s no screenplay, no first or second act, no interval and no climax. And people are going gaga over it!¡± the filmmaker added.
RGV also shared his opinion on the underwhelming box office performance of Aamir Khan's latest outing Laal Singh Chaddha. He said that it is difficult to predict what the audience find appealing and that only critics watch films "seriously" and that he doesn't think average moviegoer watches films with the same eye.
¡°Look at the box office scenario. Who would have imagined an Aamir Khan film would bomb so badly? If Aamir Khan doesn¡¯t know how to make a hit film, then what happens to the rest?" RGV had stated while speaking of Laal Singh Chaddha.
