Shamshera Actor Ranbir Kapoor Wants To Turn Director, Reveals Penning A Story During Lockdown
Ranbir Kapoor is all set to be seen in the upcoming Bollywood film Shamshera. The husband of actress Alia Bhatt also revealed how he had utilised his time during the Covid-19 lockdown. He said that he had written a story which he feels can be turned into a film. The Sanju actor also wants to play a villain onscreen.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is all set to be seen in the upcoming Bollywood film Shamshera, has opened up about his plans to turn a director. The husband of actress Alia Bhatt also revealed how he had utilised his time during the Covid-19 lockdown. He said that he had written a story, which he feels can be turned into a film.
Ranbir Kapoor had earlier produced Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos. However, speaking of his desire to direct films, RK said, "I have not worked as a producer. But yes, I have always wanted to direct a film. In this lockdown, I have also written a story, which I have liked very much. But I don't have that skill to write.. so that I can go and share that story with people and make a film with them. But yes, direction is more on my wish list than production."
"Well, my wife is a producer.. and is a very good producer, so maybe she can produce my film," the Sanju actor added.
Apart from directing, Ranbir Kapoor also wants to play a villain onscreen. The actor had recently expressed that he's envious of his Shamshera co-star Sanjay Dutt and hoped he could have played the villain instead.
Earlier, in a video titled RK Tapes, Ranbir Kapoor is seen reminiscing the super villains of Hindi cinema such as - Gabbar in Sholay to Mogambo in Mr.India. In the third episode of RK Tapes series, the Rockstar actor revealed his childhood dream of portraying a negative role onscreen.
Moreover, with the release of the film Shamshera, Ranbir Kapoor's 4 years of hiatus from the big screen will come to an end. The actor who was last seen portraying Sanjay Dutt in the biopic Sanju, will be back to entertain the audiences with his action-packed performance in Shamshera.
Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy with the promotions of his film. In Shamshera, RK will be sharing screen space with Sanjay Dutt, who plays an antagonist. Vaani Kapoor will be portraying his love interest while Ronit Roy, Saurabh Shukla and Ashutosh Rana will be playing key roles in the much-talked about upcoming HIndi movie.
Shamshera has been scheduled to hit theatres on July 22, 2022. Moreover on the work front, Ranbir Kapoor has a number of projects in the pipeline. The actor, who recently got married to actress Alia Bhatt, will be featuring in Ayan Mukerji¡¯s Brahmastra Part One: Shiva alongside his wife.
Both Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will be seen romancing onscreen for the first time unlike in their real life.
Another movie Ranbir Kapoor will star in opposite Rashmika Mandanna is Animal while he also has Luv Ranjan¡¯s untitled project alongside Shraddha Kapoor.
