'Can't Let Women Get Exploited': Sona Mohapatra Demands Strict Action In Raj Kundra Case
Labeling the porn industry and human trafficking industry as exploitative, Sona urges the authorities to take strict action against the people arrested if proven guilty.
Shilpa Shetty¡¯s husband Raj Kundra¡¯s arrest in a case related to the creation of pornographic content has shocked the entire film industry. With new twists and turns, the industry has chosen to stay 'silent' over the matter.
Amidst the chaos, some of Shilpa's colleagues from the film fraternity came out to support her.
Singer Sona Mohapatra, who has always grabbed eyeballs for strong and fearless opinions, shared her stance. Sharing her point of view on the pornography racket, Sona urged people not to find an excuse to slut-shame the women of Bollywood.
She also added that children and women don't deserve to be exploited in this racket. In an interview with Times Now Digital, Sona said,
¡°We cannot let children and women be exploited in this racket. The strictest of measures have to be there. We have to let go of the hypocrisy. When it comes down to shaming women, it is toxicity. Human trafficking, when it comes to women and children, is a billion-dollar industry. It is the worst underbelly of our society; it exists¡±.
Tagging the porn industry and human trafficking as exploitative, Sona demanded strict action if proven guilty. She added,
"Exploiting children and women in a particular racket is a thing to bring up and stricter action. We cannot continue with this. If it is proven, it is happening under the name of exploitation.. be it gang rape videos or the worst of things, they are out there in the form of porn. That is one side of it and has to be dealt with with strong hands. Safety measures need to be in place. An industry that is exploitative needs to be shut down. People do not end up attacking women."
Just a few days ago, Sona had taken to her social media handles and expressed that Raj Kundra blow-up should not be used as an excuse to abuse women.
The #RajKundra blow-up cannot be an excuse to throw lewd ? comments into our timelines & say things like, you are from #Bollywood & all of you are the same or other shit. No one has a right to shame, touch or do anything without our consent. Sounds simple enough? #India #LetsTalk pic.twitter.com/lmmWEC34sO
