Amid Protest Against Brahmastra, Vivek Agnihotri's Old Video Confessing He Eats Beef Goes Viral
Vivek Agnihotri's old video in which he said that he eats beef is going viral on social media amid Ranbir Kapoor getting slammed for the same during Brahmastra promotions.

This is what Ranbir Kapoor had said in a 2011 interview - during the promotions of Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar. As they say, the internet never forgets. The comment surfaced on social media a decade later, and now, his film Brahmastra is facing the heat. So much so, that the boycott trend has intensified post this comment went viral and Bajrang Dal activists even protested against Alia-Ranbir as they visited a temple in Ujjain to seek blessings ahead of the release of the movie tomorrow.
Protest broke out at Ujjain's #Mahakal Temple when #Brahmastra director Ayan Mukherjee, beef eater Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt went for a photo-op.

The video was shared by a Ranbir Kapoor fan. The fan wrote on Twitter, "They will never show you this video of @/vivekagnihotri who is a #beef eater too, and that's his personal choice. But it won't fit their narrative and agenda, But You guys stay away from those guys and keep booking tickets and enjoy #Brahmastra in theatres."

While Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were reportedly not allowed to enter the temple because of the protest over beef comment, a fan shared a photo of Vivek Agnihotri standing inside the temple with The Kashmir Files producer Abhishek Agarwal and asked how was he allowed to visit the temple.
"He also eats beef, why is he allowed?" the fan asked.

Reacting to the entire beef row, director of the movie Ayan Mukherjee said he stood up for positivity and went alone inside the temple without Alia and Ranbir. "We reached and we heard about this and I felt a little bit that let me go alone. Eventually, I had gone to seek blessings. And I just didn't want to take Alia there in her current condition. So I went alone. Though I felt bad and I did feel they could also have come for their darshan, that is on me."
"My thing is we must only spread warmth and positivity because that is what we all want and that is what the whole world needs. And I truly think that we worked so hard on the film, there is so much celebration of Indian culture. I feel that every single person is going to feel that positivity," he added.
