As Oppenheimer-Gita Uproar Intensifies, Murphy Calls Controversial Sex Scene 'Fu*king Powerful'
As the uproar around Bhagavad Gita mentions in Oppenheimer intensifies, Cillian Murphy declares the controversial sex scene 'powerful'.
Christopher Nolan¡¯s Oppenheimer is ruling hearts all across the world. The biographical drama which was released on the 21st of July has earned over Rs 55 crores till now on the Indian box-office. A source revealed to HT, "Anurag Thakur expressed his displeasure over the CBFC's failure to safeguard the interests of the public, emphasizing that such negligence cannot be overlooked. He asserted that the board members would be held responsible for their actions, signalling a clear message of accountability.¡±
Amid the entire furore, Cillian stands by the sequence and shared his thoughts.
In an interview with Sydney Morning Herald, Murphy expressed, ¡°Those scenes were written deliberately. [Nolan] knew that those scenes would get the movie the rating that it got. And I think when you see it, it¡¯s so f**king powerful. And they¡¯re not gratuitous. They¡¯re perfect.¡±
