What is Quiet Quitting Trend?

In an effort to alleviate stress and get rid of the highly glorified hustling culture, employees worldwide are trying to set crystal-clear work-life boundaries as part of the new workplace trend known as "quiet quitting," which is booming on TikTok.

With over 3.9 million video views on TikTok, the trend is growing and pushing millions of individuals to set boundaries between their personal and professional lives while placing a high value on the latter.

Professionals from a variety of professional backgrounds discuss how they manage a healthy work-life balance and avoid taking on obligations outside of their individual job functions in the videos emerging in favor of Quiet Quitting.

It's not about quitting the corporate payroll, these individuals claim that the goal is to continue working on it while concentrating on their leisure activities, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Some famous TikTok personality, who emphasizes the value of mental and physical health and the necessity to never compromise on these, asserted that people won't give their all at work at the expense of their mental and physical well-being.

Did the remote work model play a role here?

Amy Morin, a psychologist in the Florida Keys, told FOX Business, quiet quitting is a reaction to the hustle mentality that the pandemic amplified.

The barrier between work and home blurred as more people started working remotely, according to Morin, which frequently led to people putting in a lot more hours than in the past. So, according to Fox Business, "the silent quitting culture might be the rebound reaction that people have put out as they're fighting to manage burnout."

Although Gen Z makes up the majority of the movement's followers and creators, it wouldn't be inaccurate to argue that the trend represents a loud voice for all working-age groups.
