Goldy Brar Reportedly Detained In US, Hours After Moose Wala's Father Announced Rs 2 Crore Reward

Punjabi gangster Goldy Brar, the suspected mastermind in the murder of singer-politician Sidhu Moose Wala, has reportedly been detained in the US.

According to unconfirmed reports, Satinderjeet Singh, alias Goldy Brar, a native of Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab, was detained in California.

The development comes hours after Balkaur Singh, father of the late singer, announced a ¡°reward¡± of Rs 2 crore from his own pocket for anyone ¡°handing over gangster Goldie Brar to him¡±.

¡°Whosoever hands over Goldy Brar, I will give him a reward of Rs 2 crore from my pocket. He is the real murderer of my son,¡± Singh had said at an event in Amritsar on Thursday.

Brar had claimed responsibility for Moose Wala murder

Brar, who went to Canada on a student visa in 2017, is a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Soon after the killing of Moose Wala in May this year, Brar had claimed responsibility for the murder and added that he, Lawrence Bishnoi and Sachin Bishnoi were behind the assassination of the 28-year-old famous singer.

According to him, the murder was in retaliation to the killing of Akali youth leader Vicky Middukhera who was killed last year.

"Today, Moose wala was killed in Punjab, I, Sachin Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi take the responsibility. It's our work. Moosewala's name surfaced in our brother Vikramjit Singh Middukhera and Gurlal Brar's murder, but the Punjab Police did not take any action against him. We also came to know that Moosewala was also involved in the encounter of our associate Ankit Bhadu. Moose wala was working against us. Delhi Police had taken his name but Moose wala used his political power and saved his skin each time," he had claimed in a Facebook post.

In May, ten days before the killing of Moose Wala, the Punjab Police had sought the extradition of Brar in connection with another case.

What Lawrence Bishnoi said about the murder

According to the police, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi who was lodged inside the Tihar Jail in Delhi coordinated the murder from behind bars.

Bishnoi told the police that his gang's members, including Canada-based Goldy Brar, hatched a conspiracy and killed Moose Wala for his role in the killing of Akali Dal youth leader Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky Middukhera on August 7, 2021.

This, according to Bishnoi, led to a "rivalry" between him and the Punjabi singer, who had contested the assembly elections earlier this year on a Congress ticket.

The 28-year-old was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29, a day after the AAP government reduced his security cover.

According to the Bishnoi gang, Moose Wala was working with the Davinder Bambiha gang, which is closely associated with the Bhuppi Rana gang.
