Meanwhile, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh pointed out that the Prime Minister of Bharat is still going to attend the ASEAN-India Summit.
"Look at how confused the Modi government is! The Prime Minister of Bharat at the 20th ASEAN-India summit. All this drama just because the Opposition got together and called itself INDIA," Ramesh said in a post on X.

Special session of the Parliament
It is not just the invite from President Murmu; even the identity cards of Indian officials at the G20 Summit on September 9 and 10 will also now say 'Bharat - Official'.
Ever since the G20 summit invite surfaced, coinciding with the announcement of a special session of the Parliament scheduled for later this month, rumours have spread that the government is planning to drop the India name and replace it with Bharat.
The opposition has accused the BJP of playing politics after their bloc for the upcoming general elections named themselves INDIA, which stands for - Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance.
Insult to Ambedkar
On Wednesday, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said that changing India's name to Bharat amounts to 'an insult' to the Constitution framed by Dr B R Ambedkar.
He said that the country's Constitution had incorporated both 'India' and 'Bharat' and nobody had any problems for all these years with the usage of India, "so who has given them the right to make the name change" now?
"The problems started a couple of months ago after the National Opposition parties united under the 'Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance' (INDIA) bloc that has shaken the BJP deeply," he alleged,
"The BJP is now scared even by the name of the country, INDIA which it has been using for so many of its own schemes. Then what happened suddenly to make this move, and how many more things you will change," Raut asked.
Congress to seek agenda of special session of Parliament
Amid the continuing speculation, Congress said Sonia Gandhi will write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking to know the agenda of the special session of Parliament.
