An earthquake measuring 5.3 hit Nepal on Tuesday night. It caused a lot of panic and people ran out of their homes as they remembered the 2015 devastation which took the lives of over 9000 people, according to a PTI report.
The epicenter was Dolakha district, 180 kilometres east of the capital Kathmandu, as recorded by the National Seismological Centre.
Many residents fearful for their lives were on the streets in the night.
As of now there has been no loss of life and property.
The quake could also be felt in Kathmandu and surrounding districts.
The 2015 earthquake was a 7.8 and around 500,000 buildings had been destroyed.
On that occasion the devastation caused was immense so no wonder that the residents were reliving the trauma when this quake took place. Memories of 2015 are still fresh in the minds of the people and such quakes will not make them go away in a hurry.
This time there was no damage, but they have a right to be apprehensive the next time nature's fury takes them on.
