Elon Musk Seriously Considering Making A New Social Media Platform
Do we need another social media platform that claims to be the flagbearer of free speech online?
Tesla Chief, Elon Musk is actually considering building a new social media platform that won¡¯t hinder free speech. He revealed this in a tweet shared by him yesterday.

Reported first by Reuters, Musk, a few days back, asked users if they believed Twitter was adhering to the principles of free speech via a poll.
Musk, while sharing the poll clearly stated that ¡°The consequences of the poll will be important. Please vote carefully.¡±
At the end of the poll, over 70 percent responded with a ¡®No¡¯
Musk soon responded stating, ¡°Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy. What should be done?¡±

Soon after, a Twitter user asked him if he was willing to make one that¡¯s open source, ¡°Would you consider building a new social media platform, @elonmusk? One that would consist an open source algorithm, one where free speech and adhering to free speech is given top priority, one where propaganda is very minimal. I think that kind of a platform is needed.¡±

It¡¯ll be interesting to see if and how Elon Musk¡¯s social media platform comes to fruition as we¡¯ve seen how new social media platforms from the likes of Donald Trump¡¯s Truth, Parler and others have fared, leaving the likes of Twitter and Facebook pretty much unscathed.
