Twitter's newly appointed CEO Linda Yaccarino is going to take the reins from Elon Musk in the coming few weeks. And while this development was taking place, Meta-owned Instagram was reportedly working on a "Twitter Clone" to take on the social media platform.
In response to a news story about Meta's ambitions for a Twitter-like app, Yaccarino wrote the following on Twitter - "Game on!"

What's more interesting is that the "Twitter Clone" could be launched within this summer. The timing of this announcement is of utmost importance. Many users have been complaining about the rise of hate speech on Twitter since Musk's takeover. In her first tweets since her hiring, Yaccarino said that she aims to build "Twitter 2.0" when she officially begins her job as Twitter CEO in a few weeks.
Musk, in an announcement, also said that Yaccarino would be in charge of the elusive "X" platform that represents Musk's vision for building an "everything app."
"I¡¯m not as prolific as @elonmusk (yet!), but I¡¯m just as committed to the future of this platform. Your feedback is VITAL to that future. I¡¯m here for all of it. Let¡¯s keep the conversation going and build Twitter 2.0 together!" Yaccarino tweeted after her role was revealed.
