Tim Cook Feels People Mindlessly Scroll Phone And Get Surrounded By Negativity

Let's be honest, we cannot imagine our lives without our smartphones -- they¡¯re present for almost everything we plan on doing throughout the day, and their absence makes most of us feel restless and uncomfortable.

People, in their pastime scroll infinitely -- either watching Instagram Reels or Facebook videos -- and even Apple CEO Tim Cook is scared about this addiction with technology.
Apple CEO revealed this in a conversation with Bustle while talking about the mental health app, Shine, that¡¯s trying to fight social stigmas surrounding mental health. The app was also crowned as Apple's best app of 2020.
Using technology the right way
Speaking about online addiction, Cook reiterated a saying that technology should serve humanity and not the other way around, ¡°I've always thought that technology should serve humanity and not the other way around. And I always worried about people using technology too much. And so, we came out with Screen Time to try to give people a true reading of the amount of time they're really spending on their devices because generally, it's a lot more than they say.¡±
¡°I¡¯ve often worried about the endless scrolling, surrounding yourself with negativity and so forth,¡± he added, ¡° We want people to do things with their devices, like the photography exhibit that we both enjoyed, or connecting with family and friends with FaceTime. Not endless, mindless scrolling.¡±

Cook suffered from mental health issues during the pandemic
Cook revealed that he too felt low during the pandemic and how mental health issues are something that affects even the most privileged, ¡°You know, I don¡¯t have an S on my chest and a cape on my back. I suffer from the pandemic lows as much as everybody else does. I know that I¡¯m privileged in so many ways, but none of us are privileged to the point that mental health is not a key factor in life.¡±
