People Are Posting Creepy Images, Amharic 'Curses' On Trump's COVID-19 Tweet
Twitter users started responding to Trumps tweet with messages written in Amharic coupled with horrifying images. While the tweets might seem like an attempt at a satanic curse on the POTUS they are nothing more than memes though not to everyones liking.
Despite dismissing COVID-19 as a hoax for a long time, US president Donald Trump recently got infected with the novel disease along with wife Melania Trump. Since the POTUS broke the news through his Twitter account, the twitterati has had all kinds of reactions to it. Surprisingly, many of them involve Amharic curses (or memes?) with disturbing images directed towards the US president.
At the first glance, the creepy passages and images seem like an attempt to hex Trump, much like the ¡®mass spell¡¯ casted by the witches on him back in 2017 (Yes, that happened). The recent outbreak on Twitter, however, is nothing more than a meme fest, a rather horrid one for that matter.
Copypasta
Twitter users started responding to Trump¡¯s tweet with messages written in Amharic coupled with horrifying images. While the context might make the language seem one used by dark magic practitioners, Amharic is actually one of the official languages of Ethiopia and is considered to be quite a holy one.
That, however, did not stop the twitterati from using it to mock Trump¡¯s condition. The practice continues a trend of using the language as a copypasta along with unsettling images, mostly to derail the conversations online.
In the tweets, the Amharic text has even been used to curse the POTUS. One of the tweets quoted in a Mashable report translates to "Your family will spill the blood because of the actions you took. They feel eternal pain for your actions. Tears that flow from me will also change, and the pain they feel will be unbearable. You will soon be alone."
Others, however, were meant to be funnier and involved pasting their own pictures with humorous Amharic texts.
Not cool!
Many of these tweets directed at Trump attracted criticism from others. People on Twitter pointed out that the language was considered to be a sacred one in parts of the world and should not be defamed through such activities.
¡°can u pls not tweet this. this is a language called amharic. its actually very sacred and holy. using it when u dont even speak the language or know where it comes from is very disrespectful to the people who actually DO¡± one user wrote.
So while the tweets might seem like an attempt at a satanic curse on the POTUS, they are nothing more than memes, though not to everyone¡¯s liking.
