Another Indian Heads A Major Tech Giant - Indian-Origin Thomas Kurian Is VP Of Google's Cloud
Thomas Kurian President of Product Development at Oracle Corporation has now been announced as the head of the cloud division at Google Replacing Diane Greene Kurian will join the company on November 26th and will be taking over the role of Google cloud vice-president in early 2019. Diane Greene will remain the CEO of the company till then.
Stepping up to one of the most influential roles in tech, Thomas Kurian President of Product Development at Oracle Corporation has now been announced as the head of the cloud division at Google.
Replacing Diane Greene, Kurian will join the company on November 26th and will be taking over the role of Google cloud vice-president in early 2019. Greene will remain the CEO of the company till then.

Diane Greene joined Google three years ago in 2015 and will now remain the Alphabet's board member. She also won the national women's dinghy championship in 1976 at 21 years old. Greene has served as the CEO of Google Cloud while Kurian will be the senior vice-president, a company spokesperson said.
Kurian has spent 22 years at the Oracle and has been a close confidante of Oracle¡¯s founder Larry Ellison.

Hailing from Bengaluru, he reportedly quit Oracle due to disagreements with executive chairman, Larry Ellison over the future of the company as the cloud business got highly competitive. His twin brother, George Kurian, is CEO of California based Hybrid Cloud data services and data management company NetApp.
