NASA's Hubble Space Telescope released the footage on the social media platform Instagram, stating in the description of the photo, ¡°Liller 1 is a globular cluster ¨C a roughly spherical grouping of stars held together by gravity. However, while most of these types of clusters are home to older stars, Liller 1 hosts two populations of stars with remarkably different ages.¡±
NASA said that the youngest one is only 1 to 2 billion years old, while the oldest is 12 billion years old. This suggests that Liller 1 was able to create stars over an extremely extended period of time.
