Writer Karthik Subbaraj breaks his silence on the dull response to Ram Charan's Game Changer: 'The screenplay was changed'

Game Changer, which hit the screens this Sankranthi, was one of the biggest releases of the year. It created a great deal of buzz among fans but eventually ended up being a flop. The action drama also received negative reviews, with critics panning the screenplay and execution. In an interview with Galatta Plus, Karthik Subbaraj, who penned the story, refused to take responsibility for its failure.

Karthik Subbaraj distances himself from Game Changer

Karthik Subbaraj, who is gearing up for the release of Retro, recently opened up about the disastrous response to Game Changer. He said that the makers changed the story he had given them. The Petta director added that the screenplay too was altered ¡®a lot¡¯.

¡°There were a lot of people, a lot of writers. The screenplay has been changed a lot. The story has also changed a little bit,¡± added the filmmaker.

Karthik Subbaraj said that the original story was about a grounded IAS officer who becomes a politician, but it eventually 'became a different world¡¯.
