Toxic Company Bosses Fire Top Performer To Teach Employees A Lesson, Internet Gets Upset
A company peaked in toxic work culture when they fired one of the top performers just as an example to the other employees that they could fire anybody at will if anyone dares to go against their word.
A toxic outbreak at one company has the internet huffing and puffing. When we say toxic outbreak, we mean the
metaphorical
kind. A Reddit user took to the platform to rant about the absurd antics of their boss and shared how they went above and beyond to scare the employees working below them.
Toxic Company Fires Top Performer To Scare Employees
In the post, user ¡®Any Boysenberry¡¯ revealed how some weird things were going down at their job lately. The post¡¯s caption read, "Company fired a top performer to show us that they can fire anybody at will."
They claimed that not only was the upper management at the office stealing commissions from the employees, but they were also disrespecting the terms of the contract. In an already stressful work environment where the superiors were blatantly taking advantage of the employees, the user revealed that they also started monitoring bathroom breaks.
As absurd as it sounds, the battered employee pointed out how their bosses would freak out if anyone used the bathroom for more than 5 minutes, and if someone tried to raise their voice against the conditions of working in the company, they would see them to the door.
OP Was Also Threatened With Being Fired When They Showed Signs Of Demotivation At Work
The OP (original poster) mentioned how the other day they were threatened by their bosses, who told the poster they would get fired because they were visibly demotivated at work. The reason behind this was the constant pressure and bad behaviour the employees had to endure over getting their commissions snatched by the higher-ups.
The next day, the employee found out that one of the top performers in the company had been fired. The official news said that he was fired because he was not meeting the bosses¡¯ expectations, but other sources told the OP a different story. The poster¡¯s direct manager revealed the truth and said the employee was cut out as an "example" to the others who dared to step up to the management.

The higher-ups wanted to establish their supremacy and warn the employees against wanting to argue with them about commissions, breaches of contract, or any such discrepancy. They simply wanted to establish the fact that they were the bosses who could fire anyone at will if anyone tried to go against their word.
People in the comments of the post were disgusted by this display of unjust use of their power by the bosses. Many supported the employee ranting on the platform.
