Just like every year, 2019 came with its set of crazy, weird, and bizarre news from across the country. But what was unique about these weird incidents was that they could only be found happening in India and nowhere else in the world.

• People In Kochi Wanted To Cut Down Trees As They Couldn¡¯t Deal With Bird Poop On Their Vehicles

Not giving a damn about the fact that the earth currently needs more trees to tackle the problems of global warming and climate change, people in Kochi wanted to cut down trees, not for construction or a car park, but because they were fed up with birds pooping on their cars.

• Bullock Cart Owner Fined Rs 1000 Even Though Carts Couldn't Be Fined Under MV Act

Remember all the rage that amended Motor Vehicles Act created back in September both literally and metaphorically?

People were being challaned left right and centre. Drivers were challaned in thousands with one truck driver being challaned Rs 53,000. Among the bizarre cases which included a UP man being challaned for not wearing a helmet in a car and an auto driver being fined for not wearing a seat belt, the following one really stood out.

Riaz Hassan from Charba village in Sahaspur on the outskirts of Dehradun was fined Rs 1000 for parking his own bullock cart outside his field. ¡°Also, why did they fine me under Motor Vehicles Act when bullock carts are not covered under it?¡± TOI quoted him as asking. Realising that there was no provision of fining a bullock cart under the MV Act, the police then backtracked and had to cancel the challan. Read More.

Rajan Mahbubani dressed up a pilot of Lufthansa airlines to escape long queues and security checking. He was caught after an AirAsia staffer became suspicious about Mahbubani and contacted Lufthansa to check his credentials.
