Assam Police Arrests A Thief Who Cooked Khichdi In The Middle Of His Burglary
Assam Police said cooking khichdi during a burglary attempt can be injurious to one's well being. The law enforcement agency also noted that it would have adverse effects despite khichdi's health benefits.
The harsh reality of the world is that no matter how many strict punishments are attached to a crime, people continue doing it, even if it involves losing weight or... a little bit of cooking.
In a very bizarre incident that has come to light, a burglar who broke into a house to steal valuables, stopped in the middle of his theft to cook khichdi for himself in the kitchen because he was hungry. This unusual instance was shared by Guwahati Police who arrested this burglar.
Guwahati city police Commissioner Harmeet Singh informed India Today that the incident took place under the Dispur police station area in Guwahati city.
Assam Police informed about this incident that took place on Monday with a post on Twitter. They also added a pinch of humour to it.
Assam police tweeted: ¡°The curious case of a cereal burglar! Despite its many health benefits, turns out, cooking Khichdi during a burglary attempt can be injurious to your well being. The burglar has been arrested and @GuwahatiPol is serving him some hot meals.¡± (sic)

According to the Guwahati Police, the thief trespassed a house in the Hengerabari area but started cooking khichdi inside the kitchen of the house to prepare his dinner. While the thief was doing so, the police were informed about the break-in. The officials reached the house and caught the thief red-handed. Later, they arrested the criminal.
Social media users were in splits after getting to know about this unusual burglary that never actually happened. While one user commented, "Hahaha....good one. I think since morning he was in planning and execution mode and hence forgot to eat even a morsel." Another user commented, "Next time he will order from swiggy while at 'work'."
