In a bid to bring out a 'cooler challenger' to take on LinkedIn, world's richest person Elon Musk recently introduced a new job-hiring feature on X (formerly Twitter).
In a bid to bring out a 'cooler challenger' to take on LinkedIn, the world's richest person Elon Musk recently introduced a new job-hiring feature on X (formerly Twitter).
X Launches Beta Version Of Job Hiring Feature
The new job hiring feature allows verified organisations to post job listings on their profile. X has entered the domain of professional networking with a beta version of the hiring feature, in a bid to challenge professional websites like LinkedIn.
"Will Ensure LinkedIn's Competitor Is Cool"
Reacting to a post by a Twitter user, Ian Zelbo, who wrote, "Is there anything worse than LinkedIn?", Elon Musk wrote on X, "People send me LinkedIn links sometimes, but the cringe level is so high that I just can't bring myself to use it, so I ask for the resume or bio to be emailed. We will make sure that the X competitor to LinkedIn is cool."
In another comment, Musk wrote, "LinkedIn is actually the most cringe platform on the internet." The post soon went viral, with more than 1.5 lakh views in less than 24 hours.

Elon Musk's Reply To Dating Feature Suggestion For X
Meanwhile, Elon Musk hinted about introducing the job-hiring feature in May. In response to a user's suggestion that Twitter includes dating services, Musk said, "Interesting idea, maybe jobs too." This also appears to be a step towards the platform becoming the everything app that Elon Musk previously stated.
As per a report in TechCrunch last month, Twitter (now X) made its first acquisition since Musk bought the platform, a job-matching tech start-up named Laskie in May. It is likely that the acquisition helped the company in creating and releasing the new feature that will take on LinkedIn.
A US-based media company WorkWeek, has reportedly been using the feature for a month. Its CEO Adam Ryan tweeted last month to share the new feature and took a dig at Mark Zuckerberg's newly launched Twitter-rival Threads. His tweet got more than 5 lakh views on X.
While there is a ton of hype around Zuck copying and pasting another app, Elon's Twitter is shipping products that make a ton of sense.

We just got access to posting jobs on our company page.
Considering we've hired 20+ people from Twitter, this is a no-brainer. pic.twitter.com/KcOaBvPNGb
