If the mass layoffs, pending bill payments, and unpaid rent at Twitter's global headquarters in San Francisco weren't enough, Elon Musk's cost-cutting measures have now affected its Singapore office.

Workers at Twitter's Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore were told to empty out their desks and vacate the premises, said people familiar with the situation, as Elon Musk continues to trim down expenses around the globe.
Twitter staff were informed via email on Wednesday that they had until 5 p.m. to leave the CapitaGreen building and resume their duties remotely from Thursday, one of the people said, asking not to be named because they were discussing private information. Singapore-based staffers have now been reassigned as remote workers in Twitter¡¯s internal system until further notice, the person added, as per the Bloomberg report.
The office in Singapore serves as Twitter¡¯s Asia-Pacific headquarters, a region that was hit hard by deep and abrupt job cuts when new owner Musk took over the San Francisco-based firm in late October 2022. This month, the company also let go of Nur Azhar Bin Ayob, who had been the head of site integrity for the region and a relatively recent hire.
A spokesperson for CapitaLand, the owner of its Singapore offices, said Twitter remains a tenant at CapitaGreen without elaborating, as per the report.
San Francisco Office Landlord Sues Twitter
Elon Musk¡¯s cost-cutting efforts have included not paying rent on its global headquarters in San Francisco, and it was sued over that issue last month by the landlord of its San Francisco offices. Twitter has reportedly not paid $136,250 in rent for its office space in San Francisco.
Casey Newton of Platformer first tweeted about the Singapore office clearout, reportedly adding that the reason for it was failure to pay rent on the facility.
I'm told Twitter employees were just walked out of its Singapore office ¡ª its Asia-Pacific headquarters ¡ª over nonpayment of rent. Landlords walked employees out of the building

With bills and rent piling up, it remains to be seen how Musk, who has lost over $200 billion in net worth in the last year, handles all of this, given that ignoring or not paying these costs isn't a solution or a problem he can avoid.
