Nikkhil Advani as the showrunner and director is all set to bring his long-time vision to life. Based on a book by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre with the same name, Freedom at Midnight will be released on November 15 on Sony LIV. The series will explore the tumultuous events surrounding India¡¯s struggle for independence and the historic partition of 1947.
The makers have dropped three glimpses of the series so far. While there¡¯s no surety on which angles the series has explored, the book from where it has been inspired details the last year of the British Raj and the beginning with the appointment of Lord Mountbatten of Burma as the last viceroy of British India. The text ends with the death and funeral of Mahatma Gandhi.
