TV Actor Dipika Kakar Is Thinking Of Quitting Acting, Wants 'To Live As A Housewife And Mother’

TV’s infamous bahu Dipika Kakar is embracing her first pregnancy with actor-husband Shoaib Ibrahim. Dipika is best known for playing the lead in Colors TV Sasural Simar Ka and winning Bigg Boss 12. In a media interaction recently Dipika revealed that she is thinking of quitting acting and wants to focus on her life.

Dipika shared that she has worked for a long time in the industry and feels like its the time to move on.

Pinkvilla quotes Dipika as saying, “I am enjoying this phase of pregnancy and welcoming our first child. The excitement is on another level. I started working at a very young age and continued for about 10 – 15 years at a stretch. As my pregnancy journey began, I told Shoaib that I don’t want to work and want to quit acting. I want to live a life as a housewife and mother”.

After this interview went viral, Dipika cleared her stance and said that she is just taking a pause and it was not a full stop.

"People misunderstood my comments from my previous interview that I've given up acting. So I would just like to clarify there is nothing like that. I have always craved to live a life of a housewife. Shoaib would go to the office and I would make breakfast for him and take care of the house. But that doesn't mean that I don't want to work ever again. (laughs). Ho sakta hai I won't work for next four-five years or I might soon get offered something very good and I might accept it also. Aisa bhi ho sakta hai that I might feel that I want to give my first four-five years to my kid. All this I can only say when I welcome my baby."

Earlier this year, Dipika and Shoaib who got married in 2018 announced their pregnancy with a cute post.

They wrote in a collaboration post, “Sharing this news with you all with our hearts full of Gratitude, Happiness, Excitement and Also nervousness ? Humari life ka ye Sabse khoobsurat phase hai…Yessss We are Expecting Our First Child!! Going to Embrace Parenthood Soon?????? #alhamdulillah ? Aapki dher saari duaon aur pyaar ki zaroorat hai for our little one.”

For months now, several users on the internet have accused the couple of faking their pregnancy.

Reacting to the same, Shoaib told ETimes, "There are some people who feel Dipika is faking her pregnancy. They write stuff like “kitne pillows badlogi”. “They say “Accha har month Takiye ka size change kar rahe ho, Waah kya shaane ho”. We can’t do anything about them because their mindset is such. We don’t bother anymore. We are very happy as a family.”

“If people stop loving us even then we will stay happy together. We might not be seen on social media but we as a family will always be together and happy. Through social media, we are able to express ourselves whether it is vlogs or Instagram but we don't give anyone a right to interfere in our personal lives.”

Dipika made her television debut with Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi in 2010 where she played Lakshmi. She later helmed Sasural Simar Ka and Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. Kakar also participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8, Nach Baliye 8 and Entertainment Ki Raat. She was last seen in Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum.
